Kimchi & Wine Pairing
Kimchi is the heart and soul of Korean cuisine. In this popular experience, we’ll explore various types of kimchi and wine pairings and learn about the fermented dish and learn that the two pair exceptionally well. Your host and educator, a former wine bar owner and sommelier, will guide you through the class while you learn not only about the ingredients and dishes, but food Korean history as well.
You’ll learn about 4 different kinds of kimchi; cabbage, white kimchi, radish, and aged kimchi—and taste them as well!
Then you’ll experience hand-on cooking and learn three Korean dishes: kimchi pancake, white kimchi noodles, or radish-bacon stir-fried rice. Dishes can vary slightly due to the number of participants.
Including enjoying the three dishes you made by hand, you’ll also enjoy your host's specialty dish: aged kimchi with braised pork belly, which will be pre-made by the host, as prep time and cooking time for this dish is extremely long.
At the end of the experience, you not only know how to make a few kimchi dishes, but also which wines can make a great match.
